R Eight Cruise Reviews

R Eight

The final ship in the spectacular R-class of ships, the R Eight inaugurated in 2001. Like her seven sister ships, she combines the amenities of a modern cruise liner with the interior design of a grand ocean liner and the spaciousness of a luxury mega-yacht. The "R Eight" will resume service with P&O Princess affiliate Swan Hellenic Cruises as Minerva II in early 2003.

Excerpts from Renaissance's Website about the R Eight

Built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique of Saint-Nazaire, France, the R-Class ships are nearly identical in design. Each ship has 11 decks and accommodates 684 passengers in spacious suites and staterooms that have the feel of luxury hotel rooms.

Our R-Class ships feature four restaurants that offer open seating and casual dress codes. There are five lounges or bars, a health spa, two whirlpool spas, swimming pool, fitness track, a library, duty free shopping and other facilities for indoor and outdoor activities.
