Excerpt from SeaDream's Website
about the SeaDream I

"What are some of the highlights of the SeaDream yachting experience?"

Flexible Schedules and Itineraries – Basically, SeaDream I and II sail on scheduled, seven-day schedules and itineraries. Nevertheless, although SeaDream yachts depart their first port of call and arrive at their last port of call as scheduled, arrivals and departures at intermediate ports are not necessarily cast in stone. Our Captains have the authority to adjust for local opportunities. So our yachts frequently make unscheduled calls at small ports to visit a local fish market, for example, or to remain longer than scheduled in a secluded bay so guests can enjoy a few more hours of water sports.

Overnighting in Key Ports – Let's go back to cruise ships for a moment. Cruise ships usually arrive at ports of call in the early morning and depart in the evening of the same day. But SeaDream yachts overnight at many ports of call. You'll find many examples when you go into the itinerary section of this website. But let us give you just a couple of examples here: One port in the Caribbean where we overnight is Gustavia on the French island, St. Barts. When we sail in the Mediterranean we overnight at the French Riviera port of St. Tropez. The point is the action doesn't even get started in ports such as these until late in the evening and we have found that our guests are active people who don't want to miss anything.

Officers and Staff Lead Guests on Personal Off-Ship Experiences – Our officers and staff know our ports of call like the backs of their hands. They are experts and they are also active, interesting people just like the guests they serve. So, on each sailing Officers and Staff frequently lead our guests to their favorite sites for their favorite experiences. So, guests might have the chance to go snorkeling with the Captain in an area he knows well and enjoys. Or, the Activities Director might lead guests on a shoreside hike that he has uncovered on a previous visit. Guest may also want to join our Chef for a visit to his favorite patisserie or to a fine fish market where he plans to select some delicacies to put on the menu that evening. There is no cost for these shoreside opportunities.

Wellness and Well-Being – Wellness and Well-Being for both body and mind are high priorities with our guests and a concept that we at SeaDream take very seriously. In fact, we operate our own Wellness Center complete with Asian Spa and Fitness Center Gymnasium with a large, highly-trained staff. This is another point of differentiation from the usual cruise line concept. Further, Our Wellness Center is under the personal direction of an internationally-recognized expert Dr. Mohammed Saeme, MD, Ph.D. whose philosophy encompasses a lifestyle that encourages the perfect balance found when mind and body are in harmony. A full complement of spa treatments are available gymnasium equipment featuring treadmills, elliptical machines, recumbent bikes, free weights all with flat screen TVs and DVD players. A personal trainer is available. Tai chi, yoga and Aerobics on deck are available as requested by guests. There is also a hair and nail salon. Guests will also find a well-equipped medical facility aboard both our yachts and a licensed, highly-trained physician aboard all of our sailings.

The Golf Simulator – On SeaDream yachts guests are able to play 50 championship courses on our state-of-the-art Golf Simulator. Additionally, we have a partnership with the renowned Orlimar Golf Company, creator of the famed Orlimar Golf Clubs and other golfing equipment. Hence, our guests use Orlimar men's and women's clubs exclusively when they use the Golf Simulator. Guests who wish to purchase Orlimar Clubs aboard after trying them out with the simulator may do so. Their purchase will be drop-shipped" to them directly from the factory.

The Caviar and Champagne Splash – Of course, our guests expect to be able to enjoy caviar and champagne whenever and wherever they wish. So, we have developed our inimitable Caviar and Champagne Splash – We use the word "Splash" advisedly. Aboard our yachts, around and "in" our outdoor swimming pool our staff serves guests Caviar and Champagne. It's fun and splashy. Ashore, on secluded beaches, along with a beach barbecue or picnic, we offer our Champagne and Caviar Splash right at water's edge. Guests don't know which is louder – the click of camera shutters or the fizz of champagne.

Balinese Sun Beds – Each of our yachts features the sensational Balinese Sun Beds. These, highly popular, double sun beds are raised above the sightline of the yacht's railings to provide unobstructed views. Large umbrella's can provide shade when desired. Guests sunbathe, read, look out to sea, or just snooze.

The Library – An elegant library, cozy and quiet, with books, magazines, newspapers, board games and computers with internet connections.

The SeaDream Boutique – The Boutique is open when at sea to allow guests to purchase duty fee. It offers fine gifts of international name brands, sports- and yacht-wear, both with and without SeaDream logos, and necessary personal items guests may have neglected to bring with them.

Water Sports Marina – Each yacht features a large water sports Marina that is extended from vessel's stern in secluded, clear bays and coves. Here guests can enjoy a variety of water sports activities including kayaking, water skiing, tubing, boarding, wave running, snorkeling and sunfish sailing.

Open Bridge Policy – If guests were aboard their own yachts (and many do have their own yachts) they can visit the bridge any time they wish. So too, they can do so on their SeaDream yacht. Guests enjoy dropping by for coffee and, perhaps a Danish, in the morning and to check with the captain on the yacht's position, to estimate the time to landfall, or just to seek out marine life in the sea or in the air.

And Of Course, Fine Dining – While we hesitate to use that overworked and undervalued phrase "gourmet dining," we can with assurance declare that the open-seating dining aboard SeaDream I and II is a gourmet experience and has been highly rated in authoritative guides and other publications. You might also want to check the "What They are Saying about SeaDream" section of this website where you will find testimonials from our guests. On SeaDream yachts guests are able to dine both indoors and outdoors – both in high style and in a casual ambience.

The Main Dining Salon is a spectacular and elegant indoor space, large enough to accommodate all guests. The menu is eclectic, a combination of classics and unusual international offerings. The Maitre'd seats guests in small or larger groups and, if a couple wishes to focus only on each other at a table for two, that's fine too.

Guests also dine in the dramatic Topside Restaurant, open to mild sea breezes but shaded from the sun. Again, if a couple wishes to dine privately, there are a number of small alcoves where they may do so. There is also 24-hour room service that features light, healthful offerings. In the afternoon tea is served in the Library where guests may enjoy a variety of tea sandwiches, scones, cookies and the like. Finally, a wide selection of Canapes and Caviar are served in the Main Lounge, and fresh-cut sandwiches may be found at the Top of the Yacht Bar and by the swimming pool. Guests who crave Caviar will find it available at all times.

The Wine Cellar – Our Sommeliers are masters of their wine cellars at sea that feature many of the world's most classic vintages and an array of little-known, but surprisingly enticing wines. Classic wines are available at surprising prices but the Sommeliers also pour a selection of fine reds and whites complimentary at luncheon and dinner.
