Darlene Jutes Age: 49 Pros - Plenty of deck chairs, pools, got to embarkation around 2, only took 15 minutes, disembarkation was a breeze, no waiting. The ship was sold out. You can have your room till 9:30 or so. Cons - The lounges/restaurants are very plain, not fancy and beautifully decorated like Carnival, not a party atmosphere like Carnival, one guy playing guitar by the pool occasionally, Carnival has a 5 piece steel drum band Dining - get in line when you board the ship if you don't have reserved seating, they will still assign you a time for dinner and your own table, if you don't do this, you will wait in line every night, we were able to bypass the lines. Food was OK, similar to local restaurant. No sodas are included at all, the soda card is $20, however, most servers don;'t ask to see it. In Puerto Vallarta - you can walk to the beach, has parasailing, waverunners etc. Take a cab to town doesn't cost much, I was told it may take 1.5 hours to walk. At 49 years of age, I prefer Carnival for it's lively atmosphere and beautiful decorating, but Princess was very nice also. Overall - a nice ship, I would do it again, but find Carnival really puts an effort into a fun experience. Ask a Question About Princess Cruise Lines
