Ship: Star Princess
Sailing Date: November 1st, 2003
Itinerary: South Pacific
We sailed from LA - Hawaii
- Tahiti which took 13 days. The ship was absolutely beautiful. We were
worried about spending 10 days at sea, thinking we would be bored, but we
were truly impressed with the cruise staff on this ship. This group of
people were the friendliest, keenest, most upbeat of any ship we have been
on. We had sooo much fun. They made our cruise!!!
My only complaint about our trip would have to be the "Personal Choice
Dining". On longer voyages, most people prefer a traditional seating
arrangement and the only traditional dining room is very small. There were
over 800 people on the waiting list for 1st seating and 300 for the second
seating. We sweet talked our way into the 2nd seating which was at 8:30.
Since longer voyages often have an older group of passengers, most of them
didn't show up to eat so late, so the dining room was usually only 1/2
full. People were also complaining about long line-ups to get into the
Personal Choice Dining Rooms (Capri & Portofino).
Other than that, everything about this ship is first rate. We constantly
saw cleaning staff wiping down railings and did not hear of even 1 person
getting Norwalk on the voyage. Princess is obviously making a great effort
to keep people well which we appreciate very much.
I highly recommend this ship.
