Alaska

If you like to be on ship, this is a good cruise. Bridge, dancing, bingo, entertainment, movies.; all good. Stops (Skagway, Juneau, Sitka ) were just expensive tourist traps with China made nick nack.

The side trips were hipped twice and cost twice what they were. Raft trip at Juneau promised glacier and wild life. We put in well below the glacier and rafted thru town. The only wild life was a 6 year old girl at a house.

Train ride at Skagway was nice.

Every time you turn around, they are trying to sell you more; bloody Marys at 10:00 am, constantly offering you drinks all the time, taking your photo all the time, selling trashy gifts, ice cream at $2 a scoop was the last straw.

Only got within 6 miles of Hubbard glacier. 40 of the 60 people I asked we disappointed.

I talked to the purser about my complaints. His attitude was - we have your money and we don't care. If you don't like the prices, don't buy. We are here to make a profit.

No engineer would make themselves available to answer questions about the ship.

9 of 10 deserts were BAD. Very disappointed, No hot Fudge ever though it was on the menu. Hot chocolate was just a powdered mix with hot water for a $1. The restaurant food was great, the buffet food was OK. The steak house was $8 extra but worth it. I never had such good meat.

Other things such as bridge classes were not offered on days when in port to help force you to buy the over priced excursions.

Lots of coffee but it was made with very cheap beans.

All staff was the very best; the steward, dance instructor, bridge instructor, restaurant staff. They took care of our every need. The officers hid and were never available.

Over all, it should have been a good trip but all of this cheapness added up over 7 days and left me with a cheated feeling.

We did pay for a room with a balcony and it was well worth it.
