Cruise Line: Princess
Ship: Sapphire Princess
Sailing Date: August 8th, 2004
Itinerary: Alaska
This was our first cruise, so we didn't know what to expect. Princess had
been suggested to us because of its Anytime Dining. This option alone made
our trip on Princess perfect. Each evening we were able to dine at a
different restaurant, each with its own distinct menu and decor. In
addition, we could order items from the International Dining Room menu.
Each meal was a delight of color and taste. We spent a week just being
pampered by the staff wanting to fulfill our every wish. We highly
recommend having a stateroom with a balcony. Sunrises could be enjoyed
from the balcony at leisure, and we lounged over breakfast served there
more than once. The weather was incredible at each port--sunny,
cloud-filled skies--and the excursions were full of educational and
historical info. We especially enjoyed the trip in Skagway by coach into
Canada and then the trip back by train along the route traveled years ago
by the gold miners. Tracy Arm was another highlight with its glacier and
icy blue water. On board ship, we renewed our wedding vows with the
Captain officiating! We couldn't have been treated more royally. We loved
our cruise so much that we planning on taking Andrew's parents on a
Princess Caribbean cruise next year to celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary. Princess is the only way to cruise!
