Itinerary: Alaska
We traveled the Alaska Inside Passage aboard the Sapphire Princess the
week of 7/18/2004. In short, it could not have been better. The scenery,
the ship, the service all were perfect.
Our room was upgraded to a mini-suite, and I could not have been happier.
Large bathroom, sitting room, and a balcony large enough for a "big" man
to enjoy (6'3"; 340 lbs!).
The entertainment was spectacular everynight. The Piano Man routine was
great.
Food was good, but not outstanding. The Horizon Buffet was convenient but
rather "blah". We had early seating convential dinning, and the food and
service there was great.
Don't be fooled into thinking that because it's Alaska, it will be cold. I
wore short-sleeves and shorta all week. My wife, who was ready for "the
arctic" weather experience, was not cold.
I have cruised with Royal Caribbean twice before, and Princess is
definitely a step above. A little pricey (about $7,000 for 2 total cost
from Houston) but well worth every penny!
