Itinerary: Western Caribbean

Recently returned from a lovely experience on the Grand Princess, Western Caribbean. It was my 2nd cruise (Celebrity Infinity) and my girlfriends first We felt we got a great deal on vacationstogo.com.........a category AA mini-suite, nice balcony for about $1700 total, excluding airfare............

It is indeed true what many reviews say----large enough and laid out in such a way that you never feel that there's 2000 something people on the ship........Highlights were the great dining service, the staff is very well-trained probably more along the lines of the European tradition. The food was good but not great and i think its simply a matter of there's only so much you can do in terms of quality on a ship that large. A good comparison would be a large hotel; one usually would usually find better food in a neighboring restaurant than the hotels' food........Don't miss Stingray City....way cool. Snorkeling in Cozumel was awesome.....in addition to fish, saw a huge lobster and one of the dive guides actually caught with his hands about a 50lb green sea turtle and brought it to the surface for all to see.

I cant quite remember the name of the other Mexican port, but it was pretty uneventful, although we did go into town and some great cerviche..........

We opted for open dining and that worked well, sometimes a 15 minute wait but we were always able to get a table for two.......Complaints were minor: DJ in the disco was playing Bad music from 15 yrs ago (super freak, thriller) and just couldn't play anything to get anyone dancing....he had no clue......

One little money saving tip if you have a balcony.......do your socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc in the sink then turn your outside table upside down and with the breeze and the sun they will be dry in no time

Anyway, overall a great time and best of luck to all
