Cruise Line: Princess Cruises
Ship: Golden Princess
Sailing Date: January 10th, 2004
Itinerary: Eastern Caribbean
STAFF: The people were so friendly. The waiter would bring us 3
extra deserts every meal so we could try the stuff that no one ordered.
The people always said hello to you when you walked by. My friends and I
made friends with a bartender and he even invited us to tour St. Martin
with him. The cabin steward kept the room very nice and would even fold
our clothes for us. There was always clean towels waiting for us as well.
ROOMS: We had an inside cabin on the Aloha deck. The rooms were
fairly same, but who goes on a cruise ship to sit in their rooms anyway.
The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was about the size of two
airplanes bathrooms put together. The TV in the room played up to date
movies.
ST. MARTIN: My friends and I loved this place. They sold beer on
the side of the road for $1.00 and a carton or cigarettes for $9.95.
Definately the place to shop. We also went jet skiing here for $35, which
was a good price. However, I would recommend eating on the island,
especially since food is free on the ship. We ate at a chinese restaurant
and my friend paid $19 for shrimp fried rice.
ST. THOMAS: Watch out for the taxi drivers here, some try to rip
you off. We were told one price and then when we arrived the rude lady
demanded more and made a huge screen. We went shopping here and it was
mostly jewelry stores. We then took a tour of St. Thomas which was nice
because the tour guide stopped the bus at certain places allowing us to
take pictures. We were advised by our tour guide to visit Sapphire Beach
for water sports so we went there and went snorkeling. We saw tons of
fish. The beach was very nice and the water was a pretty teal color.
PRINCESS CAYS: This is also a good place to go snorkeling. You can
see your feet when you look down in the water. It was really rocky so it
was better for snorkeling rather then swimming. It was a nice island with
a free BBQ buffet.
AGE: My friends and I felt that there were a lot more older people
on this ship. It was ok though because the pools weren't crowded and there
was always a hot tub open.
SKYWALKERS NIGHTCLUB: My friends and I found ourselves here every
night. They played a variety of music for everyone. In the early hours
they played older music and as the night got late it changed to more up to
date music. The nightclub looked very nice and had comfortable seats for
lounging and the lighting made a good clubbing effect.
FOOD: EXCELLENT!! There was a 24 hour buffet so you could never go
hungry. The menu at the buffet as well as the dining room changed daily,
expect for breakfast, but there is only so many things that you can eat
for breakfast. On Lobster night we all ordered two entrees so don't be
afraid to ask for seconds.
ACTIVITES: My friends and I went to see a magician, a comedian, and
we painting ceramics. I didn't feel as though there were many events that
sparked our interests, although most of the ones we planned to go to we
never made it to because we were busy with other things.
SHIP: The ship was beautiful and big. It took me four days to
realize the ship had a basketball court, track, and lap pool. The golden
princess is very elegant and it makes me hesitant to go on any others. I
would definately recommend this ship to people off all ages.
