Diamond Princess Cruise Review

Steven Banta

Age: 40
Occupation: Executive
Number of Cruises: 27
Cruise Line: Princess
Ship: Diamond
Sailing Date: September 11th, 2004
Itinerary: Alaska

My wife and I returned to Alaska onboard the Diamond Princess recently, and found it to be a beautiful ship, equal to the Grand, Golden, & Star Princess. The food was excelent as always, however the Buffet was a bit dissapointing, only because the normal layout that Princess uses, has been spoiled by forcing everyone into LINES, instead of allowing everyone to freely skip to the counter they wish to serve themselves from.

The Entertainment, led by Cruise Director Billy Hygate (who is also a very good entertainer), was excellent, with the possible exception of a comic named Stu Moss, who was crass, and offensive. The production shows were fabulous, the pianist in the atrium - Bert Stratton was exceptionally entertaining, and the highlight of the entertainment was the comedy magician - Jeff Peterson, who was hilarious, and amazing at the same time.

The service was top notch throughout the ship, and we look forward to sailing on the Diamond again.
