In late 1997, this vessel - the sixth in Holland America's history to bear the name Rotterdam - replaced its predecessor of the same name as Holland America's flagship. The old S/S Rotterdam was retired after 38 years of service. Still a mid-sized ship by today's standards, M/S Rotterdam is deployed on world-wide itineraries.
