Age: 75 My wife and I booked this ten day cruise in July of 2003. Had heard a great deal of criticism about the QM2 before the trip and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The cruise was absolutely wonderful. The ship is just magnificent. It doesn't feel like a cruise ship but rather a luxury hotel that moves from place to place. The food was top notch. Every meal was perfect. The service in the dining room and in fact all over the ship was top notch. The staff was most solicitous and made you feel very comfortable. The planetarium was a wonderful extra and the shows were excellent. The Library facilities were quite extensive for a ship with excellent selections in several languages. We felt there could have been more activities on the sea days. The shops were very upscale
and some more moderately priced shops would have been nice. One major complaint
was the disembarkation. It was a horror. We didn't get off the ship until 12
noon. Disembarkation started at about 8 AM. There was a shortage of porters and
taxis were scarce. I am sure Cunard can do better with the disembarkation
procedures. Overall it was a wonderful cruise and we wouldn't hesitate to travel
on the QM2 again. |
