Glenys Groome
Age: 31 to 40 Few reviews seem to focus on travelling with young children, so I just wanted to sing the praises of the nursery on board the QE2. It's the only one I've found that will give full day care (other than lunch) for infants from 6 weeks. We travelled with our 21 month old son and, whilst the nursery was very quiet on our cruise (only 5 kids using their services) the facilities are brilliant. A large play area incorporating a reading area, ride on toys, Little Tikes playsets, painting and craft, a separate bedroom with cots for infants, and a quiet TV area. Its position right next to the bridge also gave some sense of ease in case of an emergency. There were 2 British qualified nannies on board and they doubled as babysitters for the evenings in cabin (at an additional charge). Bearing in mind my son's 6 day ticket only cost GBP 150.00 an extra $10/hour babysitting fee was not unacceptable. I understand that when there are many children on board, girls from the spa and beauty salon also babysit.
Happy cruising, Glenys Ask a Question About Cunard Line
