This was our third Celebrity cruise and the second
on the Summit. This magnificent ship is just that - clean, well-managed and with
a most personable crew.
I enjoy a good cigar, with Cognac after dinner, and was surprised when I went
into Michael's Club only to find that there was no more cigar smoking allowed
there. The rules had changed since last year's cruise. Smoking is permitted only
in designated areas (port side only) in the lounges and outside decks.
Our travel agent got us assigned to Table 434 three weeks prior to the cruise.
However, when we got to our cabin, there was a card laying on the bed specifying
that we were assigned to Table 517. It took me at least an hour to speak with
the restaurant manager about the mix up in table assignments. He told me that he
would check into it and get back to me. I NEVER heard back from him. When I
confronted him again about it, he said there was nothing he could do because
those sitting at Table 434 would not give up that table. He never offered an
explanation about the mix up. Table 517 proved to be a better table, as we could
overlook almost the entire restaurant area. Our waiter and assistant were super
guys; always cheerful and full of magic tricks and artful in napkin folding.
Will we be cruising with Celebrity again. Most certainly! Now all someone has to
do is come up with some different Caribbean ports to see.
