Celebrity Cruises really know how
to do it. We just arrived back from an eight night cruise from San Francisco to
Mexico and back. We had an outside cabin on the Panaroma deck that was very
nice. A bite small but nice. I was concerned about the age of the Mercury. But
to my surprise it was in great shape. Of all the cruises we’ve been on I think
this is one of the nicest. I’ve never had a bad cruise just some better then
others.
The Mexican ports are the same as they always are…. Nothing to write home about
but we enjoy the cruising just the same. What the Celebrity lines has to offer
over other cruise lines is “that little extra” thing they do so well…… SERVICE.
Here are some examples: when you arrive onboard you are greeted with champagne
and orange juice. Also, the staff, no matter who they are, always seems to make
a special effort to make eye contact with you and verbally greet you with a
hello or good afternoon. Another “little extra” is the cold wet towels given to
you as you return to the ship before boarding the tenders…. Just to freshen –up.
Also, at the breakfast and lunch buffet you are always met by a staff waiter
that carries your tray to the table for you. And last but not least is the FOOD
and deserts. The food on the Celebrity is the best on the ocean by far. No one
beats them when it comes to good eats…. And the deserts taste as good as they
look.
I give the Mercury a 12 out of a
possible 10.
Lastly, disembarkation …… in San Francisco…. They need help. It was a disaster.
