Fort Lauderdale airport is generally an efficient transfer to the
ship and this time was no exception. We took a taxi
from the airport to the ship. Upon arrival at the dock, we were pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of the
embarkation process. Total time from entry into the
terminal to boarding the Mercury was about 10 minutes. And
in the event you became overcome with jet lag, Celebrity had an abundance of staff on hand to assist
and direct. They even found you a seat in the terminal
and brought your paperwork to you. Imagine that.
Lest you think that the 'treatment' ended at the terminal, rest
assured that white gloved, courteous, and knowledgeable stewards to see you to your cabin meet each
passenger at the gangway.
The Mercury is beautifully designed and appointed to appeal to
the taste of the discriminating cruiser. The lounge at
the bow of the ship offers floor to ceiling windows providing a spectacular view of the sea and the
ports of call.
Almost every aspect of your cruise life aboard the Mercury
benefits from attention to detail and concern for indivisual passenger's varying interests and
needs. From quiet places to sit and read or
contemplate, to the restaurants and lounges the ship holds numerous possibilities.
The variety and quality of food and restaurant service was, as anticipated, first class.
The same can be said for the entertainment, first class.
Passengers of all ages will enjoy cruising the Mercury.
Our cabin was nicely sized with more than adequate storage and
bathroom facilities. They even provide each cabin with
white terrycloth robes and hair dryers. The cabin
steward saw to our every need.
The Mercury made port in Key West, Cozumel, Calica, and Grand
Cayman. Calica is a new port of call and we were
forewarned that the Mercury would be docking at a rock quarry.
However, once you got beyond the dock there were nice beaches and snorkeling. You could also take an excursion to Cancun from there.
As with every cruise, this one had to end, and the debarkation
process went as smoothly as the embarkation. Thanks to Celebrity Cruise Lines and the staff of the Mercury we had a wonderful cruise. Ask a Question About Celebrity Cruise Lines
