We boarded the ship in New York without any difficulty, and even found that the
weather cooperated. When we arrived at the pier, after
having driven in our own car from our home in upstate New York, we found the curbside baggage
check-in to be very helpful (as we had more than a reasonable number of cases) and we found parking
to be plentiful. Upon return to New York, we didn't
have a single door-ding!
As we boarded the ship, we were greeted in the lobby by the ship's officers and
escorted to our stateroom on the 10th (Atlantic) deck. Upon
arrival in our room, we were provided an introduction to the features and controls as well as an
introduction to our cabin attendant's assistant, who arrived with the first group of cases.
The cruise line had flowers and wine in the stateroom (prior arrangements had
been made) and the initial impression was VERY impressive, even for those who have traveled and
stayed in some of the best rooms the best hotels have to offer.
We freshened up and left our room to experience the welcome buffet, and then
attended the boat drill before dinner.
Upon arrival in the dining room, we met some of the most wonderful people, (our
dining companions, as well as the staff... Henry Conteras, our waiter his assistant Jose, and the
sommelier Ana) and proceeded to have a GREAT week. We have booked another cruise on the Horizon (in the same stateroom) this fall. Our original dining companions will be joining us on this cruise as well. We are so anxious, we just can't wait! Ask a Question About Celebrity Cruise Lines
