Galaxy Cruise Review

Jim and Tammy Wimmer

Age: 34&38
Cruise Line: Celebrity
Name of Ship: Galaxy
Sailing Date: December 13th, 2002
Itinerary: Western Caribbean

We left from Charleston, SC and waited in a line of traffic for over an hour, just to park and board the ship. We planned to get on board early, but were told no one could park until 1:00pm sharp, which accounted for the traffic delay.

Once on board, we were able to grab a hamburger. First problem-dry crumbly hamburger buns. The ship set sail on time at 6 pm and within the first few hours we knew this was going to be a long night. The ship rocked back and forth like crazy, and we could not get a straight answer as to why--was it due to sailing in December, or from leaving a port further North on the Atlantic.

One wait staff told me it was the worst he had experienced and then he got seasick. Both of us did as well. It seemed to get better once we got to Mexico.

Overall was a good cruise- a lot of older passengers and the ship got pretty dead after midnight. Not as fun as Carnival.
