In this review, I will definitely compare many
things from the Constellation with other cruises I have been on. This was my
first celebrity cruise; however I have been on many many Royal Caribbean
Cruises...over 15.
Now just to start off…the average age on this ship was 80 years old, give or
take the few 3-5 year olds with their parents… Probably because of the time of
year we went.
FOOD
Ok, so we'll start with food first! The food here is GREAT! We had a waiter
called Elston, who was amazing! The service there was really good, along with
the food…so no worries!
The so called “Windjammer” (sorry guys, forgot the name) is where you can eat
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you are a vegetarian like I am, there isn’t
much variety! The do have a salad bar at the end if you walk to where you can
eat outside.
The dining room food was excellent, and I found that the vegetarian menu there
is great. There was something different every night. The desserts there are
awesome! Don’t be afraid to order all of them if that’s what you wish! We used
to order them all, and my whole family would take bites of each.
The Cova Café is a place where you can have coffee, hot chocolate…and various
other things. You had to pay for what you wanted, but it was definitely worth
it.
THE ROOM
The rooms were quite nice, however, very VERY small. They give you single beds
there; where as Royal Caribbean gives you double beds. There is hardly any space
to put your clothes as well. I found that Royal Caribbean did a much better job
making sure there was enough closet space. I had a balcony room, so that was
very enjoyable.
ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment there was awesome! The singers and dancers put on great shows,
as well as other acts that came on board. Batucada, a dance odyssey, and other
shows they did were fantastic!
POOL AREA
The pool area was fairly large. The last ships from RCCL I was on were the
Brilliance, and the Explorer, so you definitely cannot compare! It was bigger
than the Brilliance, but smaller, much smaller, than the explorer. The explorer,
however, is double the size of the Constellation, so it would only make sense
that they have a bigger area.
The bad part is that between the hours of 3 to 5pm, there was no music
whatsoever…It was called “Quiet Time”. This was supposedly because the “Older
People” wanted no music. When I was on Brilliance, it was very entertaining, as
there was live music, and games contently. On the Constellation, there was never
really good music, and hardly ever games.
NIGHTCLUB
The ‘Reflections’ nightclub wasn’t as bad as what I thought it would be. The
“Young ones” took it over after the first 3 days. They started playing better
music once people started to request songs. Overall we had a blast there,
dancing the night away on most nights!
PORTS OF CALL
The ports of calls on this cruise were great. We went to Belgium, France (Paris,
nice…etc), various places in Spain, Portugal, and Italy (Florence). All ports
were great, and I would recommend seeing as much as possible there if you
haven’t seen Europe. It was my first time, and let me tell you, this wasn’t a
“relaxing” cruise”. Don’t get me wrong…I had a blast! But if you’re not into
walking, then maybe try the Caribbean. Oh, and you MUST try the Belgium Waffles
if your ever in Belgium.
OVERALL
Overall, this cruise was great, except for the fact that there wasn’t as much to
do on the ship as there is on a Royal Caribbean ship. Maybe, like I said, it was
because of the older people on board, but even people in their 40’s and 50’s
were complaining. The service there was really good, along with security, and
the staff on board was always there to help you when in need.
