Ship: Century

Itinerary: Eastern Caribbean

This was my first Cruise and I am so ready for another!!! I went with my mother and we had a ball! We had an easy time boarding ship as they have people ready to take you right to your room. We dropped off our bags and went out for a drink first thing. We sat sipping while we left port. This was such a fabulous trip and all that I could have asked for.

We set sail at 4:30 on Sat. and spent the next 2 days sailing towards Puerto Rico. We went to an art auction with free Champagne and then to Bingo. We spent a lot of time just roaming the ship and watching people. We had our first Formal night on Sunday and it was such fun to dress up. We also spent a lot of time in the ships Casino and enjoyed moderate success. On the second day I won at Bingo and stopped there. I figured I had won and that was enough of that. We visited the onboard cinema and enjoyed the movie selection. Very up to date movies. We visited San Juan on Monday and really only had a few hours of daylight, but enjoyed this port anyway.

The next day we got to St. Thomas and shopped till we dropped. A lot of people trying to get your money there for excursions and such. On to St. Martin on Wednesday. This was by far my favorite port!! Just picture perfect, the ultimate vision of a Caribbean island paradise!! We then set sail for another day at Sea and last port was on Friday of Nassau. This was my least favorite port. Very noisy, crowded and dirty. Really, we only had a few hours there anyway if we wanted to make the last meal in the main dining room for the cruise.

We got to the Broadway show on the last formal night and it was top quality. All in all, we shopped and ate (Oh my, the food was TOPS) and rested and just forgot about the real world. I am looking into going again soon. My mother had sailed on one of the Princess ships with my sisters family 2 years ago and raved about this one being more glamorous. Also said the inside stateroom was much bigger and cleaner. She was very impressed. The staff was first rate like any 5 star hotel. What else can I say? This was something I will never forget and hope to duplicate soon!!!!
